Mondays July 10th - August 28th
(No Class July 31 or August 7)
Dakota Community Centre
5:45pm - 6:45pm

Tuesdays July 13th - August 24th
 Riccardo De Thomassis Park (Outdoors)
6:45pm - 7:45pm

This class is best suited for dogs under 8 months of age who have not taken a class before. Topics covered include proper socialization skills with dogs and people, basic cues, leash manners and more. If your dog barks and lunges at people or dogs on leash, we recommend booking a private training session prior to starting classes as reactivity is something you want to address as soon as possible in young dogs to avoid it becoming a lifelong issue. Reactive K9 class is not recommended to dogs under 1 year even if they are reactive, as reactivity in young dogs often stems from insecurity or lack of socialization and being barked at by other reactive dogs may amplify that insecurity, which is why private training is a more appropriate alternative. If you are unsure if this class is best for you, please email us with a description of the problem behaviour you are dealing with and we can advise you from there!

Tuesdays July 11th - August 15th
Riccardo De Thomassis Park (Outdoors)
5:30pm - 6:30pm

This class is best suited for dogs who have graduated from puppy manners class, or dogs over 1 year old who have never taken a class before. Topics covered include, but are not limited to position changes with longevity (ie. sit, down, stand, release), leash manners and impulse control. If your dog barks and lunges at other dogs or people on leash, we may recommend they take a reactive k9 class prior to joining level one obedience. If you are unsure if this class is best for you, please email us with a description of the problem behaviour you are dealing with and we can advise you from there!

Leash Manners

Boy Walking His Dog

Tuesdays July 11th - August 24

Riccardo De Thomassis Park

8:00pm - 9:00pm

This class is best suited for dogs who pull on leash and struggle to listen when on walks. If your dog cannot perform basic commands and has never taken a class before, we recommend taking our puppy manners or level one obedience prior to leash manners class, as your dog should be able to listen to basic commands in one place before trying to apply commands and movement at the same time. If your dog barks and lunges at people or other dogs on leash, your dog would be better suited to our Reactive K9 class to start. If you are unsure if this class is best for you, please email us with a description of the problem behaviour you are dealing with and we can advise you from there!

Mondays July 10th - August 28th
(No Class July 31 or August 7)
Dakota Community Centre
7:00pm - 7:45pm

Thursdays July 13th - August 24th
(No Class August 3)

Dakota Community Centre
5:30pm - 6:15pm

AND
7:45pm - 8:30pm

This class is best suited for dogs who will bark, lunge and growl when they see other dogs or people on walks. If your dog behaves this way but only during greetings or when someone comes to your door, a private training session would be better suited for you. While this class will give you the handling skills that would apply to dogs who react to vehicles, bikes or wildlife, these are difficult to recreate in a class setting and often a private training session would be more beneficial for those issues as well. This class is not recommended for fearful dogs, as it can be a loud environment at times, so private training is also recommended for fearful dogs.

Thursdays July 13th - August 17th
Varying Locations (Outdoors)
5:30pm - 6:30pm
AND
6:45pm - 7:45pm

This class is best suited for dogs who have a good foundation of skills and have taken classes previously with a basic understanding of obedience and are looking for a challenge and to try something different. This class is one of our more advanced classes and is geared towards exposing our dogs to new environments, coaching handlers on navigating heavier distractions, fine tuning leash manners and focus, and giving you the tools to have your dog remain neutral, calm and relaxed when you're Out & About! This can also be a great class for puppies or dogs with some foundation skills to get out in the world and build confidence and socialize by getting more exposure to new situations. In order to be approved for this class your dog must be able to learn in close proximity to other dogs and handlers, has been in a class setting before and does not lunge, bark or react on leash to other dogs and people. Please email us if you are interested in this class so that we can get to know you and your dog better to ensure this class is the right fit for you both to succeed.

Level Two Obedience

Dog Training

Dakota Community Centre

$168+GST

To be put on the contact list for when these classes are offered next, please email training@pliantpack.com.

This class is best suited for dogs who have graduated basic or level one obedience class and were largely successful. If your dog graduated basic or level one obedience but found some of the exercises or commands challenging, we would recommend taking another level one or basic obedience class, or a leash manners class. Level two obedience includes working around more distractions, some off leash and distance work, as well as advancing upon the commands your dog already has a good understanding of. If you are unsure if this class is best for you, please email us with a description of the problem behaviour you are dealing with and we can advise you from there!

"I had the pleasure of attending a reactivity workshop led by the amazing Pliant Pack team. What a great experience! The trainers are incredibly knowledgeable in dog behaviour and positive reinforcement training methods, and made everyone feel comfortable in what could be a stressful situation. I learned a lot while attending this workshop, and my dog showed a noticeable improvement after only an hour of training. I highly recommend Pliant Pack to anyone looking for professional assistance in any aspect of dog ownership."
